She woke to four missed calls from her father, two from Callie, and a text from Callie timestamped 5:14 AM: call us!!!
DAD flashed across the screen and she answered without fully registering the world yet.
"Dad?"
The pause on the line lasted just slightly too long to be a bad connection.
"Georgie. I need you to come home.”
